The Unveiling of GR IV GR Meet II and The First GR Photo Exhibit

Held on August 30, 2025 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Pasay City, GR Meet II brought the community together for the unveiling of the Ricoh GR IV and the first ever GR Photo Exhibit in the Philippines.

Months after the first GR Meet, the community had grown faster than anyone expected. New members joined almost every day, timelines were filled with GR shots, and conversations about the next GR release never stopped.

To match that excitement, the organizers decided it was time to do something bigger, something the community had never tried before, an event that would celebrate both the camera and the people who use it.

The First GR Photo Exhibit

Ayala Malls Manila Bay became the venue for the very first GR Photo Exhibit. The wide atrium was transformed into a gallery space where printed works from GR users were displayed on clean, elegant panels.

Each print carried a part of the photographer’s story, from portraits and street scenes to cityscapes, silhouettes, and quiet candid moments. Images that began as discreet clicks from a compact camera now stood large and proudly on display.

Visitors walked slowly through the exhibit, taking their time at each frame. Families came to support the photographers, friends pointed out their favorite shots, and mall goers stopped to ask what camera was used and what made the GR special.

The exhibit showed something simple but powerful, that a small camera like the GR can hold big stories, especially in the hands of people who use it every day.

Building a Growing GR Community

GR Meet II was also a checkpoint for the community itself. What started at the first meet had now grown into a real network of GR users who regularly posted, shared tips, and interacted with each other online and offline.

At Ayala Malls Manila Bay, many of those usernames, profile pictures, and online handles finally met face to face. Photographers who had only seen each other’s work on screens were now standing together, swapping stories, comparing camera setups, and celebrating their shared preference for a compact, no nonsense tool.

The Unveiling of the GR IV

The highlight of the day arrived when it was time for the official unveiling of the Ricoh GR IV. Attendees gathered around the display area, cameras in hand, ready to capture the moment that many had been waiting for.

Before the public launch in the mall, members of the GR community were given the chance to experience something special, an exclusive look at the GR IV, up close and in person, ahead of everyone else.

Conversations Around the GR IV

After the unveiling, much of the energy at GR Meet II centered around the new camera. Attendees discussed how the GR IV might fit into their workflow, what upgrades mattered most to them, and how it compared to their current GR bodies.

There were no formal contests or structured competitions, just organic conversations around the camera, shared shooting experiences, and the kind of gear talk that only GR users really understand.

Why GR Meet II Matters

GR Meet II was more than a product launch and more than a simple gathering. It was proof that the GR community in the Philippines is active, creative, and ready to keep growing.

The combination of a photo exhibit, a community meet, and the unveiling of a new camera model created a complete experience, one that celebrated both the art made with the GR and the people behind the images.
