Fujifilm XF 56mm F1.2 APD: The Apodisation Portrait Lens with Silky Bokeh
A prime camera lens for the X Series system with an F1.2 (T1.7 with APD filter) maximum aperture, equivalent to 85mm in 35mm terms and weighing just 405g. It is built to draw the full resolution out of Fujifilm's sensors.
Who Is This Made For?
The XF 56mm F1.2 APD is for portrait, wedding and event photographers who need subject isolation and beautiful bokeh. It is a lens you reach for when the shot matters, and its F1.2 (T1.7 with APD filter) maximum aperture gives plenty of light for evenings and interiors.
Optics Designed for High-Resolution Sensors
The XF 56mm F1.2 APD uses 11 elements in 8 groups (includes 1 aspherical and 2 ED elements) plus apodisation filter. Aspherical elements correct spherical aberration and distortion at the edges. ED glass suppresses colour fringing at high-contrast edges. Fujifilm's coatings control flare and ghosting for clean, contrasty images across the 28.5° angle of view.
Bright Aperture, Smooth Bokeh
The F1.2 (T1.7 with APD filter) maximum aperture and 7-blade rounded diaphragm produce soft, natural background blur and clean specular highlights. An apodisation filter inside the lens softens the edges of out-of-focus highlights, giving the smoothest bokeh in the XF range; it costs a little light, so the effective transmission is T1.7 wide open. A physical aperture ring lets you set exposure by feel, the X Series way. Minimum aperture is F16.
Fast, Quiet Autofocus
A stepping motor delivers quiet, smooth autofocus suited to both stills and video. It focuses from 70cm with a maximum magnification of 0.09x.
Compact and Light
The lens is built with a metal exterior and precise, damped rings. It measures ø73.2mm x 69.7mm and weighs 405g, and takes ø62mm filters.
