Optics Designed for High-Resolution Sensors
The RF 16mm F2.8 STM uses 9 elements in 7 groups. Aspherical and UD elements keep edges sharp and colour fringing low, and Super Spectra coatings control flare and ghosting. The diagonal angle of view is 108°10′.
Bright Aperture, Smooth Bokeh
The F2.8 maximum aperture and 7-blade circular diaphragm produce smooth background blur and clean specular highlights. The RF control ring can be assigned to aperture, ISO or exposure compensation for direct control. Minimum aperture is F22.
Fast, Quiet Autofocus
A stepping motor delivers smooth, quiet autofocus suited to stills and video. Closest focus is 0.13m with a maximum magnification of 0.26x.
