Who Is This Made For?

The RF 85mm F1.4 L VCM is for portrait, wedding and event photographers who need subject isolation and beautiful bokeh. It is the lens you reach for when the shot matters, and its F1.4 maximum aperture gives plenty of light for evenings and interiors.

Optics Designed for High-Resolution Sensors

The RF 85mm F1.4 L VCM uses 14 elements in 10 groups. As an L-series lens it carries Canon's best glass, with UD and aspherical elements to control aberrations and Air Sphere or Super Spectra coatings against flare. The diagonal angle of view is 28°30.

Bright Aperture, Smooth Bokeh

The F1.4 maximum aperture and 11-blade circular diaphragm produce smooth background blur and clean specular highlights. The RF control ring can be assigned to aperture, ISO or exposure compensation for direct control. Minimum aperture is F16.

Fast, Quiet Autofocus

A Voice Coil Motor drives the focus group for fast, near-silent autofocus and smooth, breathing-free focus pulls for video. Closest focus is 0.75m with a maximum magnification of 0.12x.

Weather Sealed

The lens is sealed against dust and moisture with a fluorine coating on the front element. It measures 76.5 × 99.3mm and weighs approximately 636g, and takes 67mm filters.
