Canon RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM Lens

Canon RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM: A Portrait Lens That Also Focuses Half Life-Size

A prime camera lens for Canon RF mount with an F2 maximum aperture, 85mm on full frame, weighing 500g. It is weather sealed and optically stabilised, and built to resolve the detail of Canon's latest sensors.

Who Is This Made For?

The RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM is for portrait, wedding and event photographers who need subject isolation and beautiful bokeh. It is the lens you reach for when the shot matters, and its F2 maximum aperture gives plenty of light for evenings and interiors.

Optics Designed for High-Resolution Sensors

The RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM uses an optical design matched to Canon's high-resolution sensors. Aspherical and UD elements keep edges sharp and colour fringing low, and Super Spectra coatings control flare and ghosting. The diagonal angle of view is 28°30'.

Bright Aperture, Smooth Bokeh

The F2 maximum aperture and 9-blade circular diaphragm produce smooth background blur and clean specular highlights. The RF control ring can be assigned to aperture, ISO or exposure compensation for direct control. Minimum aperture is F29.

Fast, Quiet Autofocus

A stepping motor delivers smooth, quiet autofocus suited to stills and video. Closest focus is 0.35m with a maximum magnification of 0.5x.

Weather Sealed and Stabilised

The lens is sealed against dust and moisture and fitted with optical Image Stabilizer, which combines with in-body IS on EOS R bodies for even steadier handheld shooting. It measures 78 x 90.5mm and weighs approximately 500g, and takes 67mm filters.
