Canon RF 28-70mm F2.8 IS STM: F2.8 Standard Zoom Reach at a Fraction of the Weight
A zoom camera lens for Canon RF mount with an F2.8 maximum aperture, 28-70mm on full frame, weighing 495g. It is weather sealed and optically stabilised, and built to resolve the detail of Canon's latest sensors.
Who Is This Made For?
The RF 28-70mm F2.8 IS STM is for travel, family, event and wedding photographers who want one lens from wide to short telephoto. It is small enough to leave on the camera all day, and its F2.8 maximum aperture gives plenty of light for evenings and interiors.
Optics Designed for High-Resolution Sensors
The RF 28-70mm F2.8 IS STM uses 15 elements in 12 groups. Aspherical and UD elements keep edges sharp and colour fringing low, and Super Spectra coatings control flare and ghosting. The diagonal angle of view is 75°00′ to 34°00′.
Bright Aperture, Smooth Bokeh
The F2.8 maximum aperture and 9-blade circular diaphragm produce smooth background blur and clean specular highlights. The RF control ring can be assigned to aperture, ISO or exposure compensation for direct control. Minimum aperture is F22.
Fast, Quiet Autofocus
A stepping motor delivers smooth, quiet autofocus suited to stills and video. Closest focus is 0.27m with a maximum magnification of 0.24x (f=70mm)x.
Weather Sealed and Stabilised
The lens is sealed against dust and moisture and fitted with optical Image Stabilizer, which combines with in-body IS on EOS R bodies for even steadier handheld shooting. It measures 76.5 × 92.2 (Retracted)mm and weighs approximately 495g, and takes 67mm filters.
