Panasonic Lumix S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3 Lens

Panasonic Lumix S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3: The Smallest, Lightest Full-Frame Zoom in the L-Mount

A zoom camera lens for the L-Mount with an F4.5-6.3 maximum aperture, covering 18-40mm on full frame. It is dust and splash resistant, and made to Panasonic's Lumix standards for stills and video.

Who Is This Made For?

The Lumix S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3 is for landscape, real estate and architecture photographers who want ultra-wide framing with zoom flexibility. It is the lens you reach for when the shot matters, and its compact design keeps the kit light.

Optics Designed for High-Resolution Sensors

The Lumix S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3 uses 8 elements in 7 groups (3 aspherical, 2 ED, 1 UHR). Aspherical and ED elements keep edges sharp and colour fringing low, and Panasonic's coatings control flare and ghosting for clear, high-contrast images. The angle of view is 100° to 57°.

Compact Design, Consistent Rendering

The F4.5-6.3 maximum aperture and 7 blades circular diaphragm produce smooth background blur and clean specular highlights. Minimum aperture is F22-32.

Fast, Quiet Autofocus

A fast, quiet focus drive works with the 240 fps sensor communication of Lumix bodies for reliable phase-detect autofocus in stills and video, with focus breathing suppressed for smooth pulls. Closest focus is 0.15 m with a maximum magnification of 0.28x.

Dust and Splash Resistant

The lens is sealed against dust and splashes.
