The Leica DG Summilux 12mm F1.4 ASPH is for street, documentary, travel and environmental portrait photographers who want a natural, slightly wide view. It is small enough to leave on the camera all day, and its F1.4 maximum aperture gives plenty of light for evenings and interiors.
Optics Designed for High-Resolution Sensors
The Leica DG Summilux 12mm F1.4 ASPH uses 15 elements in 12 groups (2 aspherical, 2 UED, 1 ED). Every Leica DG lens is designed and built to Leica's standards, with aspherical and ED elements to control distortion and colour fringing and Nano Surface Coating to suppress flare and ghosting. The angle of view is 84°.
Bright Aperture, Smooth Bokeh
The F1.4 maximum aperture and 9 blades circular diaphragm produce smooth background blur and clean specular highlights. Minimum aperture is F16.
Fast, Quiet Autofocus
A stepping motor drives the focus group for fast, near-silent autofocus, with 240 fps sensor drive on Lumix G bodies and smooth focusing for video. Closest focus is 0.2 m with a maximum magnification of 0.1x.
Dust and Splash Resistant
The lens is sealed against dust and splashes and rated to -10°C. It measures 70 mm x 70 mm and weighs approximately 335 g, and takes 62 mm filters.
